Who

Bozenka

Meaning "touched by God", the name Bozenka suits this performer, whose gift for the art of bellydancing transcends her Cuban-Czech heritage, as she enthralls audiences and inspires performers throughout the world. As a resident of Miami, Bozenka started her training at The Mid Eastern Dance Exchange in 1998 under Tamalyn Dallal. She quickly distinguished herself, developing an elegant, classic, earthy and charismatic style that not only earned her the prestigious title, Miss America of the Bellydance 2000, but also has made her a highly sought after teacher and performer.

Ever passionate about her work, Bozenka has continued to flourish and hone her craft under the tutelage of world-renowned master teachers Amir Thaleb, Yousry Sharif, Raqia Hassan, Mahmoud Reda, Dr. Mo Gedawi, Horacio and Beata Cifuentes. Bozenka has choreographed for Latin pop star Shakira, performed with Alabina during her concert tour in Miami Beach, and entertained many celebrities including Sean Connery, Donald Trump, Hugh Hefner, Madonna, and Enrique Iglesias. Bozenka currently splits her time between touring as a soloist with the Bellydance Superstars, and teaching/performing at instructional workshops throughout the world.

What

In this workshop Bozenka will break down and explain rhythms that many dancers are unfamiliar with but are often found in classical Egyptian music. Bozenka will teach clear dance combinations that will help dancers remember these rhythms easily. Each rhythm will have it’s own combo that will include proper stylistics for each rhythms origins. This is a very effective way of memorizing and identifying such rhythms as Rhumba, Vox, Darig Tunesi, Darig Samahi and Sombati to name just a few. Appropriate for Intermediate level dancers.
